I watched the mind awake and asleep video. I learned that we usually just dream of what is in our mind and try to make sense of it. For me this will make more sense of unusual dreams for me and others. This is very interesting just to think of how you think and analze stuff without even thinking about it. I learned that you can do alot of things without even thinking of then just because you've done it for so long. I am suprised that animals also have REM sleep. I agree with the thinkings of how feelings are thought up in your sleep and i guess i dont really have anything to disagree with.

I did the contrast/color illusions, which is just the way a color is the same but in a different setting appears to be a totally different color. The other one i did was the Seeing more than your eye does, which is when there is two points on the screen and you cant see the other if one eye is open. I learned where our eyes blind spot was and thought that was pretty cool and how we precieve things that are the same but look different. I was suprised about the blind spot, it was weird to see everything but that dot. This can applie to everyday life because if were driving and focused on a spot and for some reason only one eye works we may not see a car or deer coming at us. Yes this changes the way i look at colors because you have to take into account the shading and settings. I learned what parts of brain do what, and that we pretty much see everything the opposite of the way it comes into our mind. I think that it is pretty cool that we are able to do that and that with help the brain can be stimulated to do really anything. I think this is something new and interesting that the field of science is going into.

The importance of research is that if you dont do your research their really is no credibility to your point or idea. research that is relevant to my life is like a researcher saying that school is bad for kids, so we dont have to go is relevant because it has to do with me. Culture is shared ideas and behaviors that one generation passes on to the next. This is important because you are different from people. Statistical significance means that the observed difference is probably not due to chance variation between sample. Meaning that the differences are always going to be there. Standard deviation is the more useful standard for measuring how much scores deviate from one another. Shows the difference more so that you can tell the accual differences.

chap. 1

Befor this class i thought it was just about how we study each other but it is broader and more advanced. I think psychology affects us all the time because people are always interacting with how other people and seeing the way they think. I find that the history and the begining is interesting in how Arostotle first thought of the way they thought back then.
